NP/ME Style Photography of the beautiful Tallulah posted behind the live performance by Speed of Sound …

As a pretty much virgin twitter user, some years ago, I was scrolling through someone’s twitter account one day, in the hope of finding someone interesting to follow. Mostly it is the images that attracted me…

Flicking my finger along the posts, through the many tweets, my attention was suddenly caught by a picture of some very funky men’s shoes. I love shoes they are a major thing for me… I once did a entire twitter feed over a period of months on my shoe collection; which to be fair did substantially push my followers up, it is quite amazing the interest in shoes! Albeit some of the comments were a bit dubious from some followers; another twitter user nick named the images #ShoePorn; which to be fair it kind of was… I will blog about it one day soon…

The owner of the shoes was the twitter account @SpeedofSoundUK so I followed them and they followed me back.. Which is always nice.

Tallulah & The Speed of Sound

Tallulah & The Speed of Sound

Over the years I have ‘met’ a few people on twitter and we have become twitter mates, John the owner of the funky shoes is one of those people and we chatted from time to time… It is a really nice relationship..

The Speed of Sound is a Manhester/UK’s underground veteran rock band, their sound is 1960’s with a bit of ‘now’ thrown in, and to quote John; ‘The Speed of Sound is a mixture of sound between Sonic Youth and Dusty Springfield.’ The DJ Lord Little described the band as having, ‘naturally snarling kiss my arse attitude.’ The band has been part of the music underground for over 30 years; their lyrics always have something to say with some stark social commentary always laced with positivity & a large sprinkle of optimism. I have added their links to the bottom of this blog so that you can check them out for yourself …. You really should!

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland

My beautiful daughter was doing a number of college projects and one of them was based on Alice in Wonderland, fortunately for Tallulah, I had a number of funky outfits that we thought we could bring a bit of fun to the project. So we styled up the courtyard, bought some cakes and I shot the images for her.. They were great fun to do and they really worked well. I posted some of these images on my twitter feed and my mate, John from The Speed of Sound liked them and asked if he could use some of the slides for his performances… How well they worked as you can see above…

Welcome to Wonderland … Another of Tallulah’s school projects!

NP/ME & Winrush Construction collaborated on a project together in code, my husband & I! We purchased a run down 1970’s style bungalow that was in dreadful condition and got planning permission to turn the plot into two 5 bedroom properties. Tootz our daughter never ‘ever’ to miss out on any opportunity to have fun with something new, she wanted to do another shoot at the location. So this damp run down old property was the next venue for one of her college projects, styled again by me, we just let the children go mad in the house, smash it about and spray paint the walls… & I took the pictures and posted some of them on twitter…

Once again John could see a good use for these images for The Speed of Sounds next project & so we collaborated together to make some really striking images…

So what do John & The Speed of Sound & NP/ME Style do next. As ever John came up with the idea of a T-shirt and here is based on one of the images of Tootz as you can see. Extra modelling by Ruben & Jude Paddick… Just for a bit of fun.

I am sure that The Speed of Sound & NPME Style will work again very soon .. I will keep you posted…

It was interesting finding these now old images & what is now old photographic ‘tech’.. How everything has moved on … The children are all now grown up, well sort of! No more college projects that has moved on to driving lessons for the youngest & this week after a almost six month Covid-19 lock-down together as seven, now all adults. We once again all start to go off & start to live life again..
